The day
How does the day work?
The morning starts at the Waikiki shop before a boat trip pairs a deep wreck with a reef or drift dive.
- 1
Shop check-in
Staff need your certification before the trip starts. The morning starts at Waikiki Dive Center with the documents required for your dive.
- 2
Transfer to the boat
Transport takes you from the shop to the harbor for boarding. The wreck and reef trip includes transport back from the harbor afterward.
- 3
Deep wreck dive
The first dive explores a shipwreck such as Sea Tiger or YO-257. You follow the local dive guide throughout this deeper part of the trip.
- 4
Second dive
A reef or drift dive follows the wreck before the boat heads back. Your guide stays with you for both dives.
Your booking allows 4 to 5 hours for the morning outing. Boat travel shares that time with the two dives. Return transport brings you back to Waikiki.
Pickup and meeting point
- Shop arrival: Arrive at 424 Nahua Street by 6:30 a.m. HST for check-in. The scheduled start is 6:45 a.m., after which late arrivals are treated as no-shows.
- Harbor transfer: Your first journey is to the Waikiki Dive Center shop. The transfer to the harbor follows from there, so the boat isn't the initial meeting point.
- Certification and clearance: Your certification needs to be ready at check-in. Any required medical clearance also needs to be in place, since missing paperwork can prevent participation.
- Carrying equipment: You must be able to carry 30 lb tanks during the outing. Having equipment supplied doesn't remove the need to manage its weight yourself.
Before you book
- Bring your certification for check-in. Missing proof means you can't dive and won't receive a refund.
Fit
Is this tour right for you?
The 6:45 a.m. start suits divers with advanced certification or equivalent experience at depth who can spare 4 to 5 hours. Your morning begins at the Waikiki shop. You'll need to manage 30 lb tanks.
Dive Oahu's certified wreck trip fits a 3-hour window if you have less time, from $248.81 per person. If you don't have certification, Scuba Lounge offers a first dive at Magic Island from $85 per person.

- Anyone unable to carry 30 lb tanks
- Divers flying within 18 hours of the dives
- Divers unable to present certification at check-in
Good to know
Know before you go
Advanced certification or equivalent deep-diving experience is required for this wreck route. You must also be able to carry 30 lb tanks. Missing proof of certification at the shop means losing the dive without a refund.
The booking page takes certified divers from age 14. Every diver shows proof of certification at the shop before the trip.
Check-in is at 6:30 a.m. for the 6:45 a.m. start at 424 Nahua Street. The shop comes before the harbor transfer. Late arrival after that start is treated as a no-show with the full charge.
The medical questionnaire can require a doctor's clearance before diving. Failed clearance can cost you the booking. At least 18 hours must separate your last dive and a flight, with no same-day diving and flying.
Bookings made through the booking page get a full refund until 24 hours before the start. The shop's own terms ask for 48 hours, or 21 days for groups of five or more.
If conditions turn bad after departure, the captain can end the dives. Unused dives can receive a rain check or credit rather than a cash refund. The weather policy therefore differs from canceling before the trip.

- Is basic certification enough for Waikiki Dive Center's deep wreck trip?

- Does Waikiki Dive Center provide transport for the early wreck dive?

Only if it's at least 24 hours before the 6:45 a.m. start, which brings a full refund for bookings made through the booking page. The shop's own terms ask groups of five or more for 21 days' notice.
- How long is Waikiki Dive Center's early wreck outing?
