How we choose tours and activities for Oahu

Updated October 30, 2026 Full catalog reading: October 28; counts from that reading

A tour listing is written to sell you a day. What it leaves out can spoil the one you get. Your hotel pickup time may be vague, or your USS Arizona Memorial ticket might not be reserved. The price may leave you with more to pay. This site reads every listing to keep the tours worth your money. The counts follow each step so you can check the work.

The method

Five steps, the same for every list

  1. 1
Read the whole Oahu tour catalog

1,328 Oahu tours and activities make up the catalog; each listing gets read in full. Honolulu's listings are included in the island's total. The reading covers the route and what's included. Your pickup details get the same attention as age limits in the fine print. The booking platform's order mixes ratings with paid promotion; this site doesn't use that order.

  2. 2
Keep tours with a strong record

Each tour needs 4.5 stars or better from at least 30 reviews across the booking platform and Tripadvisor combined. With 5 or more booking page reviews, that average must reach 4.5 too. 821 have fewer than 30 reviews; 101 fall below 4.5 overall. Another 37 fall below 4.5 on the booking page. That leaves 369 past the bar and 959 set aside. A new tour with 3 perfect reviews waits.

  3. 3
Match each tour to its list

198 tours sit across 16 lists, and each tour must fit its list's purpose. The Pearl Harbor list holds 14 tours that go there. Of 163 Pearl Harbor tours in the catalog, 28 pass the bar. Within each list, more reviews come first; higher ratings break ties. No tour moves up to make you spend more.

  4. 4
Compare the option behind the price

Each card's price comes from the cheapest option running within the next 10 weeks or the tour's later season. Tickets only for residents don't qualify; neither do observer seats. The card gives you the unit: per person or per vehicle. A whole boat price is labeled per boat. Your card names exclusions; the table shows you what's included. Compare the options' pickup and hours side by side.

  5. 5
Check the figures again each day

Every price and rating is read again each day. Review counts get the same daily check; each figure carries its date. The lists get a full review every 2 weeks. Below the bar: a tour stays with a note until that review. This site doesn't sell tours; every booking button takes you to the booking page at its price.

What this site doesn't do
  • The site doesn't make "best price" or "guaranteed" claims.
  • Every sentence draws on the listing's own fields without copying the operator's description.
  • Only tours worth your money make the lists, whatever commission a booking might earn.
  • No price appears without its unit so you can tell what the amount buys.

Good to know

People also ask

  • Do you get paid when I book?

Yes: when you book through a button here, the booking platform pays this site a commission. You pay the same price. Commission never changes a list's order. Canceled bookings don't earn commission.

  • Why isn't my favorite tour on the list?

Your favorite may have fewer than 30 reviews or a rating below 4.5. It may also fall outside that list's purpose. Passing the bar doesn't give every tour a place. Send the tour through the contact form for review.

  • How often do the lists change?

The lists get a full review against the catalog every 2 weeks. Prices and ratings are read again every day. The date of the last check sits at the top of every page. Read that date before comparing your options.
