The day
How does the day work?
Divers and their companions meet in Waikiki before the harbor transfer and a boat trip to a wreck and reef.
- 1
Meet at the dive shop
Both ticket types start at the Waikiki shop. Divers present their certification there before joining the transfer to the harbor.
- 2
Transfer and boarding
The included transport takes you from the shop to the dive boat. Your companion's rider ticket covers the same boat journey as the diving guests.
- 3
Wreck dive
Certified divers follow the guide at a wreck such as Sea Tiger or San Pedro. Riders stay aboard during this dive.
- 4
Reef portion
Divers follow the guide along a local reef. Your companion's rider option allows snorkeling without taking part in the scuba dives.
- 5
Return to Waikiki
The boat returns to harbor after the dives. Transport then takes you back to the shop, with the round trip included in this booking.
The 5-hour outing includes the transfers and boat travel around the dives. The return ends at the Nahua Street shop.
Pickup and meeting point
- Shop meeting point: Check-in is at Waikiki Dive Center, 424 Nahua Street in Waikiki. You make your own way to the shop before the included harbor transfer.
- Early arrival: Arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of your booked start time. The shop visit comes before the boat, so heading straight to a harbor misses check-in.
- Diving documents: Divers need their certification ready at the shop. Riders don't need scuba certification because they aren't taking part in the dives.
Before you book
- Choose the rider option if your companion won't scuba dive. Optional snorkeling doesn't give you access to the wreck dives.
Fit
Is this tour right for you?
The diver and rider options suit a couple when only one holds scuba certification. You can share the 5-hour outing. Your companion can snorkel on the rider ticket. It works if you accept the early shop meeting and don't need more than one rider per paid diver.
Dive Oahu's certified trip gives divers a 3-hour wreck and reef outing if you need less time, from $248.81 per person. If your companion wants to try scuba without certification, Dive Oahu's introductory trip costs from $270.36 per adult.
Who it's not for
- Uncertified guests expecting to join the wreck dives
- Parties needing more than one rider per paid diver
- Divers flying within 18 hours after the dive
- Travelers with spinal injuries
Good to know
Know before you go
Boat riders must be at least 10, with only one rider allowed for each paid diver. That ticket includes optional snorkeling. Your rider place doesn't authorize joining the wreck or reef scuba dives.
Bring your dive certification to the shop for check-in. Required medical clearance also needs sorting before arrival. Your mobile ticket proves the reservation, but it doesn't establish that you meet the dive requirements.
Keep at least 18 hours between your final dive and your flight. Same-day diving and flying aren't allowed. Your flight itinerary therefore needs to fit the dive's finish as well as the shop start.
Your meeting point is 424 Nahua Street, with arrival at least 15 minutes before the booked start. Harbor transport follows from there. A late arrival can lose the booking payment, so don't go straight to a pier.
Bookings made through the booking page get a full refund until 24 hours before the start. The shop's own terms ask for 48 hours, or 21 days for groups of five or more. Changes must be initiated by phone, so an email alone isn't enough.
Weather can interrupt the dives after the boat leaves, with credit or a rain check for unused diving. One reservation accepts thirteen travelers within a twenty-person tour group. The rider-per-diver limit still applies.
