Options

Which option to book

Sunset Splash & Sail buys a 2-hour cruise with optional swimming. It runs Saturday to Thursday at 4:30 p.m., or 5 p.m. from February to September.

Option Departures
Sunset Splash & Sail 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. by season, Sat to Thu
Means: The 2-hour trip suits your group when some want to swim and others want to stay aboard.

The catch: The 2-hour trip doesn't include snorkeling or snorkel gear.

The evening

How does the evening work?

The sunset outing leaves Ala Wai Harbor with time for an optional swim off Waikiki.

  1. 1
    Dock check-in

You meet Pink Sails beside Prince Waikiki. Each guest's first and last name is needed for check-in, along with the completed waiver.

  2. 2
    Along Waikiki

The boat heads out along the Waikiki coast. You see the beachfront from the water as the evening light changes.

  3. 3
    Optional swim

You can take a dip or remain on the boat. Snorkeling isn't allowed, so leave your snorkel gear behind.

  4. 4
    Sunset from the boat

The evening continues with views across the water toward Waikiki. Your group can watch from aboard as daylight fades.

The cruise and swim fit within a 2-hour outing. You finish at the same Ala Wai Harbor boarding point. The swim doesn't have a separate published time allowance.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Find the dock: The dock is at the west end of Holomoana Street beside Prince Waikiki. Your map destination is Pink Sails Waikiki at 1 Holomoana Street.
  • Arrival time: Your swim cruise requires arrival at least 45 minutes before departure. The waiver link arrives by text after booking, so paperwork can be done before you reach the dock.
  • Parking: Yellow stalls risk towing, as does expired street parking. Extending an app session requires scanning the sign again. Your paid parking needs to cover the time aboard.
  • Swim supplies: Bring a towel and sunscreen for the swim. Leave snorkel gear at your hotel. A light jacket gives you another layer later in the trip. Outside alcohol isn't allowed.

Before you book

  • Swimming is optional on this cruise. Bring a towel if you're going in.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

This 2-hour cruise suits a group split between taking a dip and staying on deck. You decide whether to swim. Everyone still needs at least moderate fitness for the outing. It won't suit a plan built around snorkeling.

To look underwater without swimming, Hawaii Glass Bottom Boats costs from $46 per adult. Charter Oahu provides BYOB coolers and snacks from $51.33 per adult if bringing your own drinks matters more.

Means: Pick Sunset Splash & Sail when your group wants the option to swim without requiring everyone to enter the water.

Who it's not for

  • Travelers seeking a snorkeling trip with gear
  • Guests below the required moderate fitness level
  • Travelers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Anyone planning to bring alcohol aboard
