Route
How does the evening work?
Moana follows Waikiki's coast past Diamond Head before returning to its Kewalo Basin slip.
- pass by
1. Diamond Head
The sail takes you beyond Diamond Head's point. You see the crater from offshore without going ashore.
- pass by
2. Waikiki coast
The catamaran follows Waikiki's shoreline with music aboard. Your first bar drink comes with the sail.
The standard Moana sailing runs from 5 to 7 p.m. and ends back at slip D108. These coastal views don't involve land stops.
Pickup and meeting point
- Find Moana: The boat is at slip D108 on the south side of Kewalo Basin Harbor. Your meeting point is the boat itself.
- Arrival window: Arrive 30 minutes before your option's check-in time. General Boarding starts at 4:45 p.m., while VIP boarding starts at 4:30 p.m.
- Getting there: Your ride to the harbor is separate. Paid parking is limited, with additional parking at the Ward shopping areas. A taxi or rideshare avoids the parking search.
- Footwear: Shoes are collected before you board. It's a barefoot sail, so footwear that's easy to remove makes boarding simpler.
Before you book
- Plan your ride to Kewalo Basin. Hotel pickup isn't included, and harbor parking is limited.
Fit
Is this tour right for you?
Moana suits a first Waikiki evening when you can spare 2 hours on the water. You don't need a full bar package. General Boarding covers one drink with the sail. Nalu suits a party of up to six if you'd rather share a smaller boat.
For an open bar with beach boarding, Holokai costs from $84.77 per adult. Kahala Kai adds appetizers to a 2-hour BYOB sail from $54.99 per adult.
Who it's not for
- Guests who need hotel pickup
- Anyone unable to arrive before the 4:55 p.m. gate closure
- Travelers expecting unlimited drinks with General Boarding
Good to know
Know before you go
All ages can join Moana. The child ticket covers ages 0 to 12, and the adult band starts at 13. Your booking must include an adult.
Your shoes come off before boarding and are collected by the crew. Wear footwear you can remove easily. The standard Moana outing keeps you on the water for 2 hours.
Bad weather can cancel your departure, and minimum bookings also affect whether it runs. A company cancellation qualifies for a full refund. Your own cancellation has a separate deadline.
Moana boards at D108 in Kewalo Basin. The separate Nalu option uses D109 at the same harbor. Paid parking is limited, so your arrival plan needs time to find the correct boat.
You receive a mobile ticket and immediate booking approval. One reservation accepts up to 30 travelers, while the standard Moana sail has a 47-passenger cap. That booking limit doesn't make the boat private.
This booking allows a full refund with at least 24 hours' notice before departure. Later cancellations receive no refund. A missed gate closure also costs you the ticket, regardless of your delay's cause.

Questions
People also ask
- How much is the Moana sunset sail with drinks?
The Moana sunset sail starts from $89.99 per person. General Boarding includes one bar drink, with later drinks purchased separately. VIP adds complimentary drinks and earlier boarding, so your choice changes more than where you stand in line.
- When should you arrive for Moana's sunset sail?
You need to arrive 30 minutes before your selected boarding time. General Boarding begins at 4:45 p.m. and VIP at 4:30 p.m. Check the option on your ticket before arranging a ride, because those boarding windows differ.
- Can you board Moana just before the 5 p.m. departure?
The gate shuts at 4:55 p.m., before the boat leaves. You can't use the departure time as your arrival target. Late guests lose their payment, so traffic or a parking search can cost you the whole sail.
- Is Moana's Nalu option a private cruise?
Nalu accommodates up to six guests, but the option can be shared or private. Its 2-hour cruise uses a power catamaran. You need an explicit private-charter reservation for exclusive use, because the Nalu option also covers semi-private trips.
- Can children take the Moana sunset cocktail sail?
Yes, Moana accepts children, with the child age band running from 0 to 12. Adults must be included in the reservation. It's a barefoot cocktail sail, so your family shares the deck with guests using the bar.
