The evening
How does the evening work?
Your evening begins at Outrigger Reef before a walk to the sand for barefoot boarding.
- 1
Hotel check-in
The crew meets you inside Outrigger Reef before sailing. Your online waiver must already be complete, including a waiver for each child.
- 2
Walk to the beach
You continue from the hotel to the beach boarding point. Shoes come off for the barefoot sail, so easily removable footwear helps.
- 3
Sunset on the water
Holokai sails off Waikiki while the open bar serves drinks. You stay aboard to watch the sunset from the catamaran.
The 90 minutes are sailing time, with hotel check-in and the beach walk beforehand. You finish back in Waikiki at the beach boarding area.
Pickup and meeting point
- Inside Outrigger Reef: The check-in address is 2169 Kalia Road. Hotel signs lead to the retail space across from the ABC Store, where you meet 30 minutes before sailing.
- Before leaving: Check that every guest's online waiver is complete. A child needs one too. Friday boarding also requires valid ID showing you're at least 21.
- Parking validation: Validated valet parking at Embassy Suites costs $15 for 4 hours. The address is 201 Beach Walk. Outrigger Reef parking doesn't receive that validation.
- Walking to board: The trip from check-in to the boat includes a beach walk. Guests with mobility concerns need to contact the crew before booking.
Before you book
- Friday's age limit applies to every passenger. Bring valid ID if you're joining that sailing.
Fit
Is this tour right for you?

For drinks with harbor boarding, Na Hoku II costs from $61.50 per person at Kewalo Basin. Pink Sails fireworks costs from $84.72 per person if your family needs a Friday cruise.
Who it's not for
- Friday parties with anyone under 21
- Guests unable to manage beach boarding
- Travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health
Good to know
Know before you go
Friday passengers must be at least 21 and carry valid ID. Saturday to Thursday welcomes all ages. Guests aged 17 and younger need a parent or guardian over 18 on those family sailings.
This sail isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. You board barefoot from the beach after walking from check-in. Mobility needs require contact before booking because the approach includes sand.
Every guest needs an online waiver before check-in, including children. Your arrival target is 30 minutes before the sail at Outrigger Reef. The desk is in the retail area across from the ABC Store.
Validated valet parking costs $15 for 4 hours at Embassy Suites, 201 Beach Walk. Outrigger Reef doesn't offer the validation. Your check-in hotel and the hotel with the parking deal are different buildings.
Poor weather or insufficient bookings can stop the departure from running. The boat accommodates up to 49 passengers, while one booking takes up to eight. Your reservation doesn't set the size of the entire sailing group.
You receive a mobile ticket with immediate booking approval. Cancellation at least 24 hours before departure earns a full refund, while later cancellations don't. Late arrival also forfeits your payment, even with a completed waiver.

Questions
People also ask
- What does the Holokai sunset cruise cost?
Holokai starts from $84.77 per adult for the 90-minute sail. An open bar comes with your ticket. You check in near the beach at Outrigger Reef, which can suit your plans when you're staying in western Waikiki.
- Can an 18-year-old take Holokai's Friday sunset cruise?
No, Friday's minimum age is 21 even if you don't plan to drink. Valid ID is required for that sailing. An 18-year-old can choose Saturday to Thursday instead, when the same sunset cruise welcomes guests of all ages.
- What time does Holokai's sunset sail leave?
Departure is 5 p.m. from October through February and 5:30 p.m. from March through September. The sailing itself lasts 90 minutes. Plan your arrival around the season's start time, with check-in completed before walking to the beach.
- Where can you park for the Holokai sunset sail?
Embassy Suites at 201 Beach Walk offers validated valet parking for $15 for 4 hours. Check-in is at Outrigger Reef, which doesn't provide that validation. Your parking plan therefore includes walking between the hotels before joining the boat's beach approach.
- Does Holokai accept children on the sunset cruise?
Yes, children can join Saturday to Thursday, with the child ticket band covering ages 4 to 12. Ages 0 to 3 use the infant band. Your children need online waivers too, and minors require the specified adult accompaniment.
