Route
How does the day work?
You spend the afternoon at village shows and activities, with Huki on canoes in the lagoon.
- ·
1. Polynesian Cultural Center
You can join in at the villages and watch shows about island culture. Huki's cast rides double-hulled canoes across the lagoon during the day.
Village activities run from 12:15 to 5:30 p.m. Huki, the canoe show, runs from 1 to 1:20 p.m. after a 12:50 p.m. pre-show. You'll need your own ride back to Waikiki when the visit ends at the Cultural Center.
Pickup and meeting point
- Welcome Center: You can swap your booking voucher for a printed ticket at the Welcome Center. A noon arrival gives you time before the villages open.
- Finding the entrance: The address is 55-370 Kamehameha Highway in Laie. Hotel pickup isn't part of this pass, so you'll need your own ride.
- Clothing: Wear shoes you can walk in all day. You must wear a shirt and shoes throughout the grounds. Bathing suits aren't allowed.
- Water: You can bring bottled water into the Cultural Center. The drinking fountains let you refill your bottle as you move between villages.
Before you book
- You don't need to book a luau to visit the villages. Pick the child ticket for your children aged 4 to 11.
Fit
Is this tour right for you?
A 6-hour daytime visit suits families who want to explore the villages at their own pace. You choose where to spend your time. It doesn't tie your evening to a show. Your group should be content with cultural activities and have separate meal plans.
For a guided village visit with dinner and HĀ, the Alii Luau package costs from $215.77 per adult. Auana gives you an 80-minute show in Waikiki from $111.67 per adult when an afternoon in Laie won't fit.
Who it's not for
- Visitors whose main goal is HĀ: Breath of Life
- Guests wanting a guide to lead the village visit
- Travelers expecting a luau dinner in the ticket
Good to know
Know before you go
Ages 4 to 11 use child admission, while children under 4 enter free. Your booking can include up to 30 travelers. An adult must be included even if you're mainly arranging activities for children.
Your phone can hold the booking voucher for arrival. The Welcome Center can exchange it for a printed ticket. Keep the ticket with you as you move through the villages during the afternoon.
A hat or umbrella helps during an afternoon outdoors. Your clothes need to meet the center's shirt and footwear rules. Swimwear isn't suitable for entry, even if the visit follows a North Shore beach stop.
You may bring food that doesn't need heating or refrigeration. Glass containers and large coolers aren't allowed. Your food should be mentioned to staff at entry, and alcohol must stay outside the grounds.
The grounds and surfaces are wheelchair accessible. Strollers and service animals are allowed too. Your self-guided ticket lets you choose activities, so you don't have to follow a group between every village presentation.
Cancellation at least 24 hours before your scheduled start qualifies for a full refund. There's no refund after that cutoff. Your daytime ticket doesn't become an evening-show ticket if you arrive too late for village activities.
