Options

Which option to book

Flying options use an 800-foot or 1,000-foot towline. The observer option keeps you aboard without a flight.

Option Departures
Observer / Boat rider hourly from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., most days
800-foot line hourly from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., most days
1000-foot line hourly from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., most days
Means: The 800-foot option is the starting choice if you want to fly and keep the price lower.

The catch: Children aged 5 to 15 need a parent or guardian to fly with them.

The day

How does the day work?

You board at Ala Wai Harbor and take off from the boat for a shared parasail flight off Waikiki.

  1. 1
    Harbor check-in

The yellow and green hut is the starting point for your boat trip. Minors need their parent or guardian present for the required waiver.

  2. 2
    Boat and harness

The boat heads out from Ala Wai Harbor. You fly in a harness with another guest, with triple flights subject to the captain's decision.

  3. 3
    Flight over the coast

Takeoff happens from the boat. The flight gives you a view of Waikiki and Diamond Head while other passengers remain aboard between their turns.

  4. 4
    Water dip and landing

A water dip is optional during the flight. You can request a dry ride before landing back on the boat for the return to harbor.

The shared boat trip occupies a 1-hour slot. Your time in the air varies by flight option. The return is to Ala Wai Harbor Slip 600B.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Harbor address: The meeting hut is at 1651 Ala Moana Boulevard in Ala Wai Boat Harbor. Slip 600B is the boat location, and hotel pickup isn't included.
  • Early arrival: Arrive at the hut 30 minutes ahead of the booked start. You need time for check-in before boarding, and missed boats don't qualify for refunds.
  • Passenger details: Passenger weights are required when you book the trip. The captain uses weight and wind conditions to decide who can share the parachute.
  • What to wear: Wear a swimsuit and closed-toe shoes for the outing. Sunscreen is recommended too, even if you plan to request a flight without a water dip.

Before you book

  • Observer seats bought here depend on spare room aboard. The operator doesn't take observer reservations directly.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

The 800-foot flight suits families using Ala Wai Harbor who want fuel included in the price. You'll share the flight with your child. Children aged 5 to 15 need a parent or guardian flying alongside them. A boat-only adult won't meet that requirement.

For a Kewalo Basin departure with observer tickets, Xtreme Parasail offers flights from $88.52 per person. For departures through 6 p.m., Go Hawaii Watersports costs from $80 per person to fly.

Means: Choose the 800-foot flight for the entry price with fuel included, subject to your group's weight and age limits.

Who it's not for

  • Children under 5, including observers
  • Children aged 5 to 15 without a parent or guardian flying
  • Flight groups exceeding 450 lb combined
  • Travelers with mobility problems or recent surgery

Good to know

Know before you go

Children aboard

Everyone aboard must be at least 5. Children through age 15 need a parent or guardian in the parachute with them. Older minors still need an accompanying adult aboard and a signed waiver.

Harness and weight

The combined weight ceiling is 450 lb for a shared flight. A guest above 250 lb also needs to fit the harness. Your booking must include passenger weights, and a triple flight isn't guaranteed.

Health restrictions

Pregnancy or mobility problems rule out this outing. Recent surgery and injuries can also prevent participation. The boat ride carries these limits too, so an observer ticket doesn't bypass the health rules.

Clothes and arrival

Wear closed-toe shoes with swimwear for the boat outing. Sunscreen is recommended for the time outside. Your party needs to be at the Ala Wai Harbor hut 30 minutes before departure, with no refund for missing the boat.

Cancellation terms

Your booking allows a refund with at least 24 hours' notice. Direct bookings use a 48-hour deadline. A weather cancellation offers another date or a full refund, while late arrival is treated separately.

Tickets and observers

The booking limit is eleven travelers, with a mobile ticket for check-in. Observer seats depend on spare room aboard. Your group's plan therefore needs an agreed place for anyone who won't fly.

Questions

People also ask

  • What is included in Hawaiian Parasail's flight price?

Your flight starts from $89 per person with equipment and fuel included. That entry option uses an 800-foot towline. Food and drinks aren't part of the price, and your hotel-to-harbor journey is separate.

  • Can children fly without a parent on Hawaiian Parasail?

Children aged 5 to 15 must share the flight with a parent or guardian. An adult simply watching from the boat doesn't satisfy that rule. The child also counts toward the combined flight weight limit.

  • Where does Hawaiian Parasail leave from?

The boat uses Slip 600B at Ala Wai Boat Harbor. Your check-in point is the yellow and green hut at 1651 Ala Moana Boulevard. Arrive with 30 minutes to spare before the booked start.

  • Can Hawaiian Parasail guests request a dry flight?

A dry flight can be requested instead of the optional water dip. The shared boat outing takes 1 hour. Your time in the air depends on the flight option, and conditions still govern the ride.

  • Can three people fly together with Hawaiian Parasail?

A triple flight is possible, subject to the captain's decision. The combined limit is 450 lb. Wind and how passengers' weights balance affect the choice, so buying three tickets doesn't guarantee one shared flight.
