How does the day work?
Your party meets on the Waikiki Shore oceanfront for land practice followed by a shared session in the surf.

Stoke Drift meets you on the ocean side of the Waikiki Shore condominiums. Your own party stays together for the lesson that follows.

Land instruction
The first 15 to 30 minutes cover safety and ocean conditions. You also rehearse technique before trying it in the water with your instructor.

Surf with your party
The water session follows the land practice. You work on catching waves together, and everyone must be able to swim without relying on the instructor.
Land instruction forms part of the 90-minute lesson. You finish at the same Waikiki Shore oceanfront meeting point.

Friends or older families get 90 minutes of instruction within their own party. Everyone must be at least 13. You won't join an open class. The starting adult rate needs at least two adults aged 18 or older.

Know before you go
The lesson takes students aged 13 and up. Teens aged 13 to 17 use the child ticket band. Children 12 and younger need a private lesson, which this booking doesn't cover.
Every student must be able to tread water for 1 minute without help. Private instruction doesn't remove that requirement. The lesson also needs moderate fitness and isn't recommended during pregnancy or with poor cardiovascular health.
You can use the supplied rash guard over your swimwear. A board and leash are included too. Bring a towel and drinking water for the time around your lesson.
The group format is for your own party of 2 or more. You won't be matched with strangers. One booking can hold up to 8 travelers, subject to the chosen option's age rules.
