The day

How does the day work?

The adventure raft carries your small group along Waikiki's coast to snorkel Turtle Canyon with a guide.

  1. 1
    Meet at Pier A

A staff member greets you at the gate near Slip 15. The boat is a black and yellow adventure raft.

  2. 2
    Ride along Waikiki

Your group heads along the coast toward Turtle Canyon. The 28-foot raft carries no more than six guests.

  3. 3
    Explore with a guide

Snorkel gear and flotation are provided for the reef swim. Your guide helps you explore the water around sea turtles and fish.

  4. 4
    Return to the harbor

Drinks and snacks are available aboard after your swim. The raft brings you back to the Pier A boarding point.

Snorkel & Swim sets aside 2 hours for the whole outing back to Kewalo Basin.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Gate landmark: Pier A's gate is near the X-Treme Parasail shack with a jet ski on its roof. The gate is to the right of the stop sign, near Slip 15.
  • Early arrival: Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before departure to meet the staff member at the gate. The boat won't wait, and missed departures don't qualify for a refund.
  • Ticket: Your ticket needs presenting on arrival. The check-in happens at Pier A before you board the raft, so keep it ready for the crew.
  • Parking and ride: The parking lot is across from the gate. Your journey to Kewalo Basin is separate, since everyone meets at the harbor rather than at a hotel.

Before you book

  • Plan on 2 hours for Snorkel & Swim. Arrive at the Pier A gate 15 to 20 minutes before departure.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

Diamond Head Cruises suits a small party wanting a guide and only six guests on the raft. Your Snorkel & Swim booking needs 2 hours. There isn't an onboard toilet for that time. Young children need the operator's prior agreement.

Captain Max offers a six-guest speedboat trip from $109 per person if a 90-minute outing is enough. Big Kahuna costs from $85 per person if your priorities are an onboard bathroom and a shaded cabin.

Means: Choose Snorkel & Swim at 9:30 a.m. for a morning outing with six guests if the raft's facilities suit you.

Who it's not for

  • Guests who need an onboard toilet
  • Pregnant travelers
  • Families bringing young children without prior agreement
