Fit
Is this tour right for you?
The self-guided option suits swimmers who want 5 hours to explore and can move the kayak to the beach. Your route stays flexible. It's a fit for families whose younger paddlers can share a tandem with an adult.
For guidance through the ocean paddle, Twin Islands costs from $275.12 per person with lunch included. If you'd rather reach the snorkeling by boat, Captain Bruce's sandbar trip costs from $180 per adult.
Who it's not for
- Non-swimmers
- Guests unable to move a 70 lb kayak
- Children wanting a solo kayak
Good to know
Know before you go
Self-guided tickets start at age 8. The guided Twin Islands trip takes swimmers aged 13 and up. Anyone under 16 must share a tandem kayak with an adult.
The 70 lb kayak travels to the beach on a cart. You'll need to pull it over sand too. The short walk from the shop takes some physical effort before paddling begins.
Wear water shoes and clothes you can get wet. Your dry bag comes with the kayaking gear. Drinking water and sun protection belong in your bag for the time offshore.
Self-drive guests have free parking at the Kailua shop. Check-in is 15 minutes before your booked start. Your beach launch follows the briefing and equipment fitting rather than starting at the shop counter.
Weather can cancel your outing. A landing permit is included with your equipment, but it doesn't guarantee suitable sea conditions. Your briefing covers the route and conditions before you leave the shop.
Mobile tickets cover bookings of up to 8 travelers. You receive a full refund when canceling at least 24 hours before departure. After that deadline there's no refund for canceling your booking.

Questions
People also ask
- What does Kailua Beach Adventures' kayak and snorkel tour cost?
The tour costs from $114.58 per adult for the self-guided self-drive option. Your kayak and landing permits are included. A guide and lunch come with the guided options, which cost more.
- Does the Kailua Bay kayak tour include a Waikiki shuttle?
Only the paid shuttle options include hotel transport. Pickups run between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. by your assigned stop. The return reaches Waikiki between 3:30 and 4 p.m., so your hotel day extends beyond the kayaking.
- Which Kailua kayak start gives the full rental time?
Noon or earlier allows the full 5-hour self-guided window. All equipment must be back by 5 p.m. Choose a morning start if you want room for breaks without working against the shop's closing time.
- Can the Kailua Bay kayak tour be booked for tomorrow?
Bookings made within 1 day of departure need operator approval after you reserve. More advance notice gives you an immediate booking response. A last-minute request isn't a settled departure until that approval arrives.
- Can non-swimmers join Kailua Beach Adventures' island kayaking?
No, everyone on this tour must be able to swim. The supplied life jacket doesn't replace that requirement. Tandem kayaks have a combined weight limit of 400 lb, so your pairing also needs to fit the boat.
